ABOUT CHRISTEN FLANDERS ART

The heart and soul of my work is based upon growing up on the southeast coast and traveling abroad. I hope viewers and collectors can feel the love and passion I have for life, while also being transported to a peaceful escape. I want them to feel inspired, at peace, and to get lost in my paintings.

Whether the inspiration has come from basking in the sunlight at the beach or outside of a French cafe on a brisk fall morning, the most important thing is that my artwork connects to the viewer.

Texture is an essential component in my paintings. I predominantly work with a more tonal palette. I have lived in several homes and I know how important it is to have artwork and furniture that can be moved around interchangeably. I want my collectors to have pieces that they can easily move from one place to another.

Christen Flanders

OWNER

Christen Flanders grew up on the coast of Charleston, SC. From a young age, her passion for the arts started to blossom. At around 5 years old she set up a lemonade stand on a golf course featuring her artwork. She also loved accompanying her mom, an interior designer, to Atlanta and Chicago. She learned early on that art provided an outlet where she could easily get lost. Christen fell in love with interior design, discovering she had a knack for it. Thus leading her to begin to pursue a career in art after winning several South Carolina State Awards. She moved all over the Southeast with her husband, daughter, & son. Christen and her family most recently relocated to San Diego, California. While she has experimented with several mediums over the years, she prefers a soft tonal palette; it has allowed her to pull from her childhood memories and decades of traveling abroad. She feels blessed to be able to have shared her love of the arts with her family, friends, & community.
